This gathering is designed to align your energy with the renewing power of the lunar cycle\, offering a peaceful reset from the rhythm of daily life. \nAs the new moon invites new beginnings\, you’ll be guided by Dr. Gigi Turner\, PsyD\, into a deeply immersive sound bath experience using crystal and Tibetan singing bowls\, chimes\, flutes\, and other harmonic instruments. The sound encourages the nervous system to soften and settle\, creating space to release what no longer serves you and invite in clarity\, peace\, and openness. \nWe’ll close our time together with a cup of ceremonial cacao sourced from Guatemala. Ceremonial cacao is known for its natural ability to gently open the heart and support emotional presence. It isn’t psychedelic or intense—rather\, it encourages warmth\, groundedness\, and a deeper connection with yourself and the space around you. Sharing cacao together helps us integrate the experience\, allowing the insights and sensations from the sound bath to land more fully. \n \nWhat to Expect:\n\n\nOpening Meditation: Arrive into your body and breath with a gentle guided meditation. \n\n\nSound Bath Experience: Rest in the resonance of layered sound designed to soothe\, calm\, and restore. \n\n\nIntention Setting: Align with the energy of the new moon to plant seeds for the cycle ahead. \n\n\nCeremonial Cacao: We’ll close with a shared cup of ceremonial-grade cacao sourced from Guatemala—offered to gently open the heart\, ground the experience\, and support connection with yourself and the group. \n\n\n \nWhat to Bring:\nTo help us care for our premium floor cushions\, we ask that you please bring one sheet to cover your mat and one blanket to stay warm during the sound bath. Through waves of resonant sound\, you’re invited to settle beneath the noise of the mind and into a quieter place — one that feels open\, receptive\, and deeply human. \nAs you rest\, the sounds move slowly and deliberately\, creating an atmosphere that encourages emotional softening and gentle awareness. Many people notice a sense of warmth in the chest\, a feeling of spaciousness\, or a renewed connection to compassion — for themselves and for others. There is no pressure to feel anything specific. The experience meets you exactly where you are. \nThis sound bath is especially supportive if you’ve been feeling closed off\, disconnected\, or guarded\, or if you’re simply longing for a moment of sincerity and presence. The vibrations work subtly\, inviting the body to relax and the heart to feel safe enough to open\, even just a little. \nThere is nothing to fix\, release\, or force. Only an invitation to rest\, listen\, and spend some time in the quiet center of yourself. \n \nWHAT IS A SOUND BATH? \nA sound bath is a meditative experience where people are “bathed” in sound waves produced by various overtone-emitting instruments\, including singing bowls\, gongs\, chimes\, and more. DESCRIPTION:Sound as Medicine is an intimate January training offered by Singing Bowls of the Rockies for those interested in learning sound as a felt\, experiential practice. \nThis training approaches sound as medicine—focusing on listening\, presence\, and relationship with sound. Sessions include hands-on work with singing bowls\, listening practices\, and guided exploration of sound and vibration\, allowing participants to understand how tone and resonance interact with the nervous system and the body through direct experience. \nThe class is intentionally kept very small\, with private or one-student-per-class instruction. This format supports individualized pacing\, focused practice\, and meaningful integration. The training emphasizes experiential learning rather than performance or certification. \nThis offering is well-suited for: \n\n\nAspiring sound practitioners \n\n\nHealers\, therapists\, yoga teachers\, and wellness professionals \n\n\nThose wanting to learn sound for personal\, family\, or community use \n\n\nAnyone curious about the healing effects of sound and vibration \n\n\n \nNo prior experience with sound healing or music is required. \nBefore the training begins\, Gigi will personally speak with each participant to understand their background\, intentions\, and goals.
